Privacy notice
Last updated: October 2026
This notice explains what personal data we process when you visit tightvalve.com, contact us or subscribe to our newsletter, and what rights you have. It is based on the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP).
Who is responsible
The party responsible for processing personal data on this website is:
TightValve (start-up project, not yet incorporated)
c/o ARTORG Center for Biomedical Engineering Research, University of Bern
Freiburgstrasse 3
3010 Bern, Switzerland
info@tightvalve.com
For any questions about data protection, please write to us at the address above.
Visiting the website
This website is hosted by Infomaniak Network SA in Switzerland. When you open a page, the server automatically records technical information in log files: your IP address, the date and time, the page requested, the referring page, and your browser and operating system. We need this data to deliver the website and to keep it secure. Log files are kept only for a limited period and are not combined with other data.
This website does not use cookies, analytics or tracking tools. Fonts and all other resources are served from the same server as this website, so visiting the website does not send your data to third parties such as Google. The only exception is the newsletter form: as soon as you click into it, a spam check is loaded from Infomaniak (see below).
Contact form and email
When you use the contact form or write to us by email, we process your name, email address and message in order to answer your request. The form sends your message by email to info@tightvalve.com. We keep the correspondence for as long as needed to handle your request and any follow-up, and delete it when it is no longer needed, unless we are legally required to keep it.
Newsletter
If you subscribe to our newsletter, we use your email address to send you news about TightValve. After signing up, you receive an email asking you to confirm your subscription; you are only added once you confirm. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every newsletter or by writing to us.
We send the newsletter with the newsletter service of Infomaniak Network SA, which stores your email address in Switzerland. To protect the form against spam, it uses a privacy-friendly check (ALTCHA) from Infomaniak that works without cookies: as soon as you click into the form, your browser loads it from Infomaniak and solves a small computing task. Infomaniak’s newsletter statistics show whether a newsletter was opened and which links were clicked; we use this only in aggregate to improve the newsletter. We keep your address until you unsubscribe. After that, it is only kept in deactivated form, to make sure you receive no further newsletters; if you would like it deleted completely, let us know. For more information, see Infomaniak’s privacy policy.
Links to other websites
This website links to other websites, such as LinkedIn, our partners and news articles. No data is sent to these sites until you click a link. Once you are on another website, its own privacy policy applies.
Disclosure of data
We do not sell your personal data. Apart from the service providers named above, who process data on our behalf, we only disclose it if we are legally required to. All personal data is processed in Switzerland; we do not transfer it abroad.
Data security
All connections to this website are encrypted (HTTPS). We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data against loss and unauthorised access.
Your rights
Under the FADP you have the right to request information about the personal data we hold about you, and to have incorrect data corrected. You can also ask us to delete your data, object to its processing, or receive it in a common electronic format. To exercise these rights, write to info@tightvalve.com. We may ask you to prove your identity.
If you believe we are not processing your data lawfully, you can report this to the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC).
Changes
We may update this notice when our website or the services we use change. The current version is always published on this page.
